What's Next for the KatFS Pre-Alpha?

Since publishing the KatFS pre-alpha demo, I've received some good pieces of feedback, which I've proceeded to convert into tasks and begin working on. The highest priority at the moment is allowing the player to customize their own keybinds. Feedback regarding the default keyboard controls has been all over the place, and while I want to iterate on it and make sure to have a good layout for most players, allowing for customization would ensure everyone gets to have the best experience possible.
Unity's new input system makes rebinding very easy (save for certain things such as checking for duplicate binds), but a lot of work is still needed in setting up an appropriate UI and UX for the process. Not only that, but allowing for custom keybinds means that every button prompt in the game must be dynamic, which means different icons for different types of keys, as well as a script that can look up the right icon and text to display to the player. Besides that, I will also be improving the prompts themselves, specially the "use potion" reminders which can get a bit obtrusive at times.
You can expect a minor update in a week or two which will include these and some other improvements around the overall experience. In the short term, there's also a plan to upgrade the AI components for all the current enemies which will allow me to more easily write custom AI for each individual enemy type, meaning they should have some more variety in the way they behave.
In the mid-term? I want to offer more snippets of Kalia's adventure through this demo. Venturing through a dark cave infested with spiders? Fighting highly organized goblins as you make your way up a ruined tower? There are plenty of setpieces in planning, but I would rather let you see for yourself once they're ready to present.
This is all for now though. I'm thankful for the support I've had up to and through the launch, and hope to make this game into something much greater in the future!
